Sam Mollo
My first experience with Apple was the Apple II Plus that my father purchased for his company in 1980. At the time, the purchase came with lessons in Basic. My father said, “I think these computers are going to be the future, do you want to take this class”? I later moved on to the IISi and IICi and then my first tower, the 840AV. I first began editing in 1994. I was in a band at the time, and though, with this new computer (840AV), we could make our own music videos. The band never made it, but I ended up starting a small post production company (DigiVision) with the drummer. We worked mostly on DRTV commercials, marketing and training videos. In that time I learned Adobe Premier, After Effect (Aldus at the time), photoshop, digital dark room(gone) morph(gone), audio sessions and DVD authoring. Jumped to Media 100 (remember that one?) in 1999 and prepared for Y2K. 6 years into the new millennium, we moved over to Final Cut Studio. In 2009 when Apple introduced the SDK for the iPhone, I learned the objective-c programming language and made about a dozen .99 cent apps. By 2011 our company was defunct and I started working at Kin where I have been for the past 9 years.
