Richard Harrington
A certified instructor for Adobe and Apple, Rich is a practiced expert in motion graphic design and digital video. Starting his career out in the world of broadcast journalism, Rich has always had great interest in visual communications. His producing skills were also recognized by AV Video Multimedia Producer Magazine who named him as one of the Top Producers of 2004. Rich is a member of the National Association of Photoshop Professionals Instructor Dream Team, and a popular speaker on the digital video circuit. He has been the Program Manager for the Post|Production World Conference since 2003.
Rich is an internationally published author. His book, Photoshop for Video, was the first of its kind to focus on Photoshop’s application in the world of video. He is also a contributing author for From Still to Motion, Video Made on a Mac, Final Cut Pro On the Spot and Professional Web Video. Gary Adcock
Few exemplify the changing technological landscape in digital cinema more than Gary Adcock. With a unique understanding of on-set technologies and their relationships in post-production has allowed him to act as a guide in the evolving relationship between acquisition, edit, and delivery. Gary is one of the co-authors and tech editor for the original version of the Data Handling Procedures and Best Practices guide used by IATSE Local 600 (Cinematographer’s Guild). Jeff Greenberg
Jeff I. Greenberg has nearly two decades of experience as a Post-Production consultant and Master Instructor (trainer for other trainers) for Adobe, Apple, and Avid, specializing in the areas of editorial, workflow, compositing, sound, color grading and compression. Scott Simmons
Scott Simmons was born in rural West Tennessee and didn’t really realize that movies and television had to be made by actual people until he went to college. After getting degrees in both Television Production and Graphic Design he was in one of the early graduating classes at the Watkins Film School in Nashville, Tennessee. During that time at Watkins he discovered editing. While most of his classmates in film school wanted to be directors, Scott saw real career opportunities in post-production and took a job as an assistant editor after completing film school. Not long after that he became a freelance editor. With nearly 20 years of experience in all areas of post-production Scott has worked both as a freelancer and on staff at a post-house. He has edited a diverse number of projects ranging from music videos, to live concert productions, to commercials, to documentaries and everything in between. Kevin Ames
Kevin Ames is among the first generation of ENG photographers in television. His video career started the same day the station he was working for tore out their film processor. He has worked in local news, commercial production, scripting advertisements as well as being the voice of a CBS affiliate.

Warren is a freelance Colorist based in Australia. He has an extensive 28-year career with experience in all forms of color correction. Over the past 15+ years at Whistling Woods, he has worked towards mainstreaming of Film Education particularly, and of Media & Entertainment education generally, in India’s high school, graduate & post-graduate education spectrum. He has also spearheaded Whistling Woods’ initiatives to work with Emerging Technologies, develop workflows around them, write curriculum for the same and then introduce it into the education at Whistling Woods in particular, and for the filmed entertainment industry in general.
He currently serves on several public policy and innovation bodies like India’s Media & Entertainment Skills Council (MESC) and the AVGC (Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming & Comics) Task Force established by the Government of India to draft India’s national policy for the AVGC industry. He also serves on the Board of Governors of the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE).
He has written extensively in Indian & global media outlets and is an active speaker at global seminars & conferences on the Filmed Entertainment Industry, with special focus on Education and Technology. He is also a strategic advisor to several startups in the M&E, Technology & Education verticals.
Gina Crow
Gina Crow is an Italian-American director, writer, and producer based in Los Angeles, California.
With a background as a music producer and international DJ spanning a decade, Crow blends music and film with cutting-edge technology, lending her directorial vision to music video, commercial, and narrative work. In music videos, she’s directed for Seven Lions, Eli & Fur, Andrew Bayer, and others. Her recent biopic, No Silence, amplifies the voices of LGBTQ+ musicians, released in June 2023 through Amazon Music.
Last year, Crow partnered with Fuse Technical Group, ARRI, Inc., and FotoKem to direct and produce an action thriller short film–exclusively shot on an LED volume stage using virtual production. The film, Dark in Berlin, stars Christine Ko (Dave, The Handmaid’s Tale) & Miki Ishikawa (The Falcon and the Winter Soldier) in a raw, visceral entry to the female-forward action genre. Dark in Berlin will begin its festival run in spring 2024.
Currently, Crow is in development on a feature-length adaptation of a British medical thriller with New State Pictures, in collaboration with Atlantic Books. As a co-founder of Red Kite Productions, she’s pursuing female-forward narratives in film & tv on an international level.
Matthew Duclos
A lens technician by trade, Matthew Duclos has been servicing, repairing and modifying cinema lenses for over 25 years. His career began as an apprentice under the guidance of his father Paul Duclos. A passion and technical aptitude for optical and mechanical design have led to a lifelong obsession with cinema lenses. Since 2002, he’s managed the day to day operations of Duclos Lenses including service, modification, and design of new lens components and accessories. Matthew continues exploring lenses of all kinds, consulting for a variety of lens manufacturers around the world. An associate member of The ASC and SoC, Matthew strives to share his knowledge and experience with the motion picture industry as a whole.
Willis Chung
Willis Chung has established himself as an IATSE Local 600 Digital Imaging Technician since the early 2000s, working on numerous commercials and feature films including prominent titles such as “Game of Thrones“, “Thor 2,” and “Need for Speed.” In 2013, Willis embarked on a new professional endeavor by assuming the role of US Marketing Director at the DJI US Marketing Office, where he played a pivotal role in the strategic transformation of a hobby-oriented tech company into a prominent entity within the realm of professional cinema equipment.
In 2017, Willis’ started Sclera Digital where it evolved into a leading provider of custom bonded WiFi soluGons, leveraging advanced technologies such as high-powered bonded modems, high-gain antennas, and custom Starlink satellite receivers. These solutions are tailored to meet the demanding connecGvity requirements of the film, television, and events industries, with a focus on encrypted streaming, camera-to-cloud integration, and versatile general-purpose applications.
In addition to his role at Sclera Digital, Willis is the founder of Mad Minds Entertainment, a production company specializing in creating commercials and films for esteemed tech and fashion brands such as Segway, TikTok, and Versace.
Zoe Borys
Zoe has been an active industry insider since 1992. She graduated from Rollins College with a BA in Liberal Studies, at a time when Orlando, Florida had a thriving television industry. It was a pivotal time, as Universal Studios was built and Disney had working Sound Stages for Production that was not theme park related. Zoe’s first career Opportunity upon graduation was working for Chapman-Leonard Cranes and Dollies and managed their 9,000 square foot sound stage, and booking commercial and television production.
In 1998, Zoe relocated to Minneapolis, Minnesota working for the Motion Picture Division of the Eastman Kodak Company, covering a 10 State territory that included Wildlife Cinematographers, Film Schools, Film Labs and feature Film and commercial Production. Her biggest client at that time was Prince at Paisley Park Studios due to his request that everything he did, be shot on Film!
During a chance encounter with a Panavision Senior Executive at the Telluride Film Festival, Zoe was asked about relocating to Chicago, where she was instrumental in Panavising the operation that was Victor Duncan. Chicago was thriving with feature film, Television and commercial production and gave Zoe an opportunity to work with prolific cinematographers such as Laszlo Kovacs, Robbie Greenberg, and many, many others.
Zoe continued to grow her network of influencers when she went North of the Border working for Panavision Canada as a Marketing Executive in all segments of industry, including MOW’s, commercials, Music Videos, Feature Films, television series, Pilots, spec pieces, and Norman Jewison’s Canadian Film Center.
Not one to settle, and having aging parents, Zoe returned to Panavision in Orlando in 2004, doing a Marketing Feasibility Study to position Panavision’s success in the Southeast. Florida’s tax incentive was eliminated and rumors of the new industry hub becoming Atlanta, Georgia. Zoe was strategic and navigated the exit of Panavision in Orlando, to Atlanta, Georgia.
Thru a screening of “Visions of Light” in 2006, being hosted by ICG, ARRI and Fletcher Chicago, Zoe was introduced to Tom and Archie Fletcher. Having heard of Zoe’s career highlights, and wanting to grow Into a National Industry player, Zoe was hired as The General Manager of Fletcher Rentals, where she remained thru the acquisition and transition of Fletcher Rentals into VER.
2015 provided another opportunity of growth for Zoe, working with LED, and Immersive Environments when she was recruited to PRG to spearhead their film and television segment with opportunities and growth in Georgia, Chicago, New York, Toronto and Los Angeles.
Industry functions near and dear to Zoe’s heart, including Producers Guild, Directors Guild and the most prized organizations being the ASC, CSC and Camerimage reintroduced and connected Zoe back with Panavision’s Senior Leadership team. In June of 2018, Zoe joined Panavision as the VP and General Manager of Atlanta, and then relocated back to Chicago, where she remained thru May of 2023.
In June of 2023, Zoe seized the opportunity and joined FUSE TECHNICAL GROUP, where she brings innovation, collaboration, and LED opportunities to her creative peer group.

Anne Saul
Anne Saul is an award-winning Cinematographer, Gaffer, and educator with SaulgoodMedia, in Annapolis Maryland. After 11 years in higher education, Anne took a lesson from her students, and jumped headfirst into the world of lighting for film and fell in love! Since then, LIGHT has been an obsession that has led her on many adventures as a Gaffer and Director of Photography.
With over 8 years as a Gaffer, with films like “Night Waking” and the “Girl Who Left Home”, and over 20 years of photo and videography, Anne shifted her focus post pandemic to Director of Photography with films like festival favorite “Gloria’s Birthday” and the newly released feature “The Other You”.
Off set, Anne spends her time playing music, coaching future race drivers with BMW HPDE, and chilling out with her 11yr old 1st AC, Lily.

Arash Roudafshan
Arash Roudafshan is the Vice President of Technology at Bardel Entertainment Inc., providing strategic oversight of the technical operations and vision for the company’s global network. With over 20 years of strong leadership experience in the Information Technology field, and 16 years of production technology experience, Arash understands the complexity of the production pipeline and enterprise standards of the modern animation industry. He has experience in both Episodic and Feature Animation pipelines and has helped global studios with multi-region pipeline and geographically split animation productions.
Prior to his time with Bardel, Arash spent over 6 years with Animal Logic Studio, helping design and build the Vancouver studios while reshaping their global technical operations into a unified standard. Claire Dundee
Claire Dundee is a co-founder of Red Kite Productions, a film production company that pushes the boundaries between traditional filmmaking and virtual production, while championing female narratives. With her extensive experience in producing short films, Claire adeptly navigates projects with efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Her background in filmmaking and content production, honed through USC’s Film and TV producing program, has allowed her to develop and oversee numerous projects. Notably, she was honored with the USC Cinematic Arts First Look Producers Award for her work on a multi-media short film, “Monsters of Mine”.

Jay Holben
Jay Holben is an award-winning independent director and producer living in Los Angeles, California. His most recent work is the feature romantic drama Before the Dawn and the American Society of Cinematographers Motion Imaging Technology Council’s film The Mission, a production backed by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, Amazon Studios, Disney, Sony, Warner Bros. and more. As a producer and director, Holben has helmed independent feature films, television series, documentaries, short films and commercials.
He was a former cinematographer with more than a decade experience behind the camera and is an associate member of the American Society of Cinematographers, vice-chair of the ASC’s Motion Imaging Technology Council as well as chair of the MITC Lens Committee. Philip Grossman
Philip Grossman is an internationally recognized Cinematographer/Photographer and Host of Discovery Science Channel’s “Mysteries of the Abandoned: Chernobyl’s Deadly Secrets.” He is one of only a few of photographers to have had a solo exhibition at the United Nations. His exhibition, part of the 30th anniversary remembrance of the Chernobyl Catastrophe, was opened by former New Zealand Prime Minister Helen Clark and Minister of Foreign Affairs for Belarus, Minister Vladimir Makei. In addition, his works were selected to mark the first International Chernobyl Disaster Remembrance Day.
Philip has spoken globally on various topics including film/broadcast technologies, information architecture, nuclear power and space exploration. He has licensed his material to tv shows and feature films such as Ridley Scotts Equals, ABC Freeform’s Shadowhunters and Marvel’s Legion. His various video clips on Youtube and Vimeo have a combined viewership of over 4 million.
He is a frequent contributor to the Media and Film industry including presentation to the National Association of Broadcasters, International Association of Broadcasters, and the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers. Philip has travelled to some of the most remote and unique locations in the world to document history that is vanishing with time: Chernobyl, Ukraine; Polesie Reserve, Belarus; Fukushima, Japan, and Baikonur Cosmodrome, Kazakhstan. He is a graduate of the University of Colorado at Boulder with a Bachelor of Science in Civil and Architectural Engineering. After many years working as an engineer, Philip went back to school and received a Master’s of Business Administration from the University of Georgia and embarked on a 20-year career as a media technology consultant many global organizations, including Ernst & Young, Cap Gemini, The Weather Channel, ABC/Disney, CBS, SkyUK, Warner Brothers, NBC Universal, Red Bull, Nine Australia, etc.
In his free time, Philip is an instrument-rated general aviation pilot and is working towards completing his commercial and multiengine ratings. Moreover, he has the distinction of being the first person to fly a Multi Rotor Drone in the Chernobyl Zone of Exclusion as part of his work in documenting the aftermath of the nuclear catastrophe.
Snehal Patel
Snehal Patel is a filmmaker and creator with a background in engineering and cinema tech. Formally an executive for a large equipment manufacturer, Snehal is stepping back into the film world with creative storytelling projects that exploit the latest technologies. He is also involved at a leadership level with SMPTE, helping to create metadata standards for VFX and Virtual Production workflows. Snehal shares his filmmaking knowledge openly and speaks at various events and film festivals.
Tim Jung
Tim Jung is the founder and CEO of XL8, the only machine translation company specializing in media & entertainment content. Prior to XL8, Tim was a Software Engineer and a TLM (Tech Lead and Manager) at Google, leading and managing software engineers and ML researchers, successfully launching multiple NLP-based (Natural Language Processing) Search features including Events Search, Events Data in Knowledge Graph, and Personal Search. Tim Kang
Tim S. Kang, a career cinematographer, serves as Aputure’s Principal Engineer for Imaging Applications. He also chairs the Lighting Committee in the ASC Motion Imaging Technology Council. Tim earned a BS in Biomedical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University, and an MFA in Cinematography from the American Film Institute Conservatory. He is an associate member of the American Society of Cinematographers, and a member of IATSE Local 728.
Yan Shvalb
Yan is a highly experienced content producer and educator with over 25 years of experience in all aspects of production and post-production. He has held positions at Sony Music, Apple and other major corporations, leveraging his expertise and craft. In addition, Yan has taught at NYU, Brooklyn College and FMCtraining. Currently, he is producing video content for the City of Aventura, pushing his creative boundaries to create engaging content for social media, and continuing to mentor, teach and produce original content.
Alex Forsythe
During his 16 years at the Academy, he’s acted as technical lead, manager, and individual contributor on projects such as ACES and the Solid-State Lighting project developing technology to help drive standards in the motion picture industry. Alex led the teams which received a Primetime Engineering Emmy in 2012 and the SMPTE Workflow Systems Medal in 2022. He is author of numerous SMPTE standards and serves on the US Technical Advisory Group to ISO TC-36. Alex is an Associate Member of the Imago Technical Committee and a Member of the Hollywood Chapter of the Colorist Society International (CSI). Prior to his time at the Academy, he served as an engineer at Intel and in Eastman Kodak’s Research Labs where he focused on developing color imaging systems.
Alex Nelson
Alex Nelson is the founding partner and lead product designer at Zero Optik, an LA-based rehousing company that specializes in building unique lenses for cinematography. As an associate member of the ASC and former IATSE 600 camera assistant, Alex brings a keen eye and personal passion for image-making to the process of re-engineering and rehousing lenses, often taking on unusual or overlooked projects that others have written off. Most recently, Zero Optik’s handiwork has shot projects like Pablo Larrain’s El Conde, Zack Snyder’s Rebel Moon, and Daliland, starring Ben Kingsley.
Alicia Robbins
Alicia Robbins is a Director of Photography known for Grey’s Anatomy seasons 16 & 17, the Netflix mini-series Keep Breathing, and now coming up in May of 2024, the highly anticipated Season 3 of Bridgerton in which Alicia lensed 4 out of the 8 episodes of this iconic show. Other work includes the new NBC re-boot of Quantum Leap (Season 2), and features such as Babysplitters and The Wedding Invitation. Alicia is a graduate of the American Film Institute (2003) and also a 2018 recipient of the Emerging Cinematographer Awards.
Dado Valentic
Dado Valentic is an award-winning colorist and color scientist with extensive experience working at the crossroads of art, science & technology. He is best known for his unique approach to the processing of digital images and his style of color communication. A tech visionary, Dado Valentic has worked on more than 60 feature films, tv-series and hundreds of commercials, as well as on productions of original digital art by Jeff Koons, Marina Abramovic, Olafur Eliasson, and Anish Kapoor. Dado was responsible for color science behind the first Netflix HDR production, ‘Marco Polo – Season II’, which was awarded Best TV Picture, ASC 2016. As a color scientist, he was involved in ‘Exodus’ by Ridley Scott and ‘Game of Thrones’, ‘Total Recall’, ‘Mr Nice’, and ‘Sherlock Holmes’ by Guy Richie. Dado’s colorist credits include: ‘Absolutely Anything’ directed by Terry Jones, starring Simon Pegg, ‘A Hundred Streets’ starring Idris Elba, ‘Dough’ starring Jonathan Pryce, and ‘Blackwood’ by Adam Wimpenny.
David Long
David Long is Director of the RIT Center for Media, Arts, Games, Interaction & Creativity (MAGIC) and MAGIC Spell Studios. MAGIC is a university-wide research and development laboratory and a commercial production studio that assists in efforts to bring digital media creations up to marketplace standards for commercialization. Faculty, staff and student researchers, artists and practitioners come together to create,
contextualize and apply new knowledge in a multitude of related fields and disciplines as appropriate not only to STEM or the arts and humanities, but their intersection.
Long joined the faculty of the School of Film and Animation at Rochester Institute of Technology in 2007, where he also serves as an Associate Professor for the motion picture science program. His research interests at RIT include designing virtual production workflows and color management, engineering multispectral video capture and display systems, studying variability in human color vision, and modeling sensory perception of motion media.
Prior to RIT, Long worked as a Development Engineer and Imaging Scientist with Eastman Kodak’s Entertainment Imaging Division. At Kodak, his primary responsibilities included new product development and image science and systems integration for the motion picture group, focusing on film and digital imaging products. Long contributed to the design and commercialization of the Vision2 family of motion picture color negative
films, as well as several digital and hybrid imaging products for television and feature film post-production. His work has earned him numerous patents and a 2008 Scientific & Technical Academy Award for contributions made to the design of Vision2 films.
Outside of RIT, Long is Fellow of the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE) and contributor to the SMPTE Rapid Industry Solutions for On-set Virtual Production. He is also a member of the community advisory boards for WXXI and the Little Theatre in Rochester. Long earned his BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin, an MS in Materials Science from the University of Rochester, and a PhD in Color Science from Rochester Institute of Technology.
Joshua Pines
Spanning iconic projects from “Star Wars” to “Roma,” and “The Aviator” to the latest Marvel series, Josh Pines has collaborated with some of the world’s most esteemed cinematographers, directors, and studios throughout his illustrious four-decade career as a color scientist. He has consistently challenged the boundaries of current technology, from pioneering developments in image scanning for ILM in the early ’80s to serving as Vice President of Color Imaging R&D at Technicolor Digital Intermediate, and contributing significantly to the advent of AI-based image processing techniques.
Josh’s contributions have been pivotal; it’s fair to say the industry’s current advancements might not have been possible without his innovations. Among his notable achievements is the creation of the Color Decision List (CDL) system, which remains the gold standard for look management several decades on.

Mark Raker is a cinematographer who has been creating award-winning film and television programs, and national television spots since the 1980’s, including Peabody Award-winning “A Letter to Elia” directed by Martin Scorsese and Kent Jones, Netflix’s “An Unreasonable Man”, Emmy Award-winning “Moment of Impact”, and Rose d’Or winning “Michael Moore’s The Awful Truth”. His most recent narrative, “Five Questions”, has won nine “Best Cinematography” awards on the festival circuit.

Since 1986, Mark has been the professor of cinematography at the New York University School of Professional Studies where he received the NYU Award for Teaching Excellence and the NYU Award f for Outstanding Service. From 2006 to 2017 he served on the faculty of the Maine Media Workshops + College in Rockport, Maine. Since 2016 he has served on the faculty of the New York City College of Technology. In 2019 was on the faculty of Purchase College SUNY. And since 2022 he has taught Advanced Cinematography, and Color Grading as a faculty member of Hofstra University in New York.

Tom Thudiyanplackal
Tom Thudiyanplackal is a Senior M&E Solutions Architect and Film Producer with over two decades of experience in visual storytelling and creative leadership. He has a strong background in virtual production, having completed the Unreal Engine Virtual Production Fellowship and serving as executive producer for the Entertainment Technology Center on two innovative short films. Tom has also produced the Emmy-nominated nature documentary “Seed: The Untold Story” and served as development and marketing head on blockbuster films such as “3 Idiots” and “Carry On, Munna Bhai.” He is skilled in mentoring and motivating inclusive teams to succeed and is committed to delivering exceptional results for his clients and partners.
Tucker Downs
Tucker Downs is a color scientist and R&D manager for ROE Visual, the leading LED vendor for virtual production studios. While at ROE, Tucker has helped develop the product strategy, driver technology, LED designs, and other technical developments for leading LED products. Recently he has worked to introduce RGB-White and RGB-Cyan-Amber display designs for virtual production and broadcast studios.
Walter Volpatto
Senior Colorist Walter Volpatto has over two decade’s experience in the industry and has worked on a plethora of projects including Oscar®-winning films such as Peter Farrelly’s Green Book and Christopher Nolan’s Dunkirk, as well as Gina Prince-Blythewood’s acclaimed drama The Woman King, and Rian Johnson’s blockbuster Star Wars: Episode VIII – The Last Jedi. Volpatto has also received nominations from the Hollywood Professional Association for Outstanding Color Grading awards for Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty, Sweet Tooth, and for his work on Green Book. He also earned a HPA Color Award for Winning Time.
Yan Shvalb
Yan is a highly experienced content producer and educator with over 25 years of experience in all aspects of production and post-production. He has held positions at Sony Music, Apple and other major corporations, leveraging his expertise and craft. In addition, Yan has taught at NYU, Brooklyn College and FMCtraining. Currently, he is producing video content for the City of Aventura, pushing his creative boundaries to create engaging content for social media, and continuing to mentor, teach and produce original content.
